The Deployable Operations Group (DOG) are the specialised forces of the Coast Guard. However, they do not serve under Special Operations Command (SOCOM), as the Coast Guard serves under the Department of Homeland Security? (DHS)? rather than the Department of Defense (DoD). The office of the Commanding Office of the Deployable Operations Group is held by a Captain (O-6), however, ranks higher and lower than this have held this office in the past. The current CO of DOG is Commandocarter.
The DOG is currently one of the largest divisions in the Coast Guard, and they often deploy on land in areas from the Middle East to the American coast. They are currently authorised to go to all CG-Authorised warzones.
